Our Missionaries in the Field
We value your prayers for us so much! Thank you for your faithful hearts in giving and praying for us. The following has been shared by a few of our missionaries for prayer.
Simon has been sharing the passage of Isaiah 53 with many Jewish people. One person told him that if the text was true, then it must refer to Jesus. But, since he doesn’t believe in God it’s not important to him personally. He also had a Jewish man read the entire chapter twice but even after talking through the sermon Simon was intending to preach the following Sunday, he would not apply it to himself. There are others who believe that the text is the Word of God, but accept the Rabbinic view that the Suffering Servant represents the people of Israel and not the Messiah.
Simon comments that so often Jewish people have limited Hebrew and little or no Bible handling skills or experience and so quite naturally they depend on Rabbinic teaching for what the text says. Please pray that the Holy Spirit will open blind eyes to the authority of their scripture and that Jewish people would have the courage to trust the promises made throughout their Bibles about their Messiah.
Fiona went back to Berlin on Easter Monday after a week at home celebrating Passover.
When she arrived in Berlin at the beginning of March it was during the huge influx of refugees, and she led two teams from Israel who arrived to help. They volunteered at the main railway station and ministered to many – praying for them and leading a number in repentance as they gave their lives to Jesus.
Fiona is back home now and asks that you keep the frontline teams in your prayers for the Lord’s leading.
Fiona has also been working to arrange temporary accommodation for the refugees and is now looking for long-term placements.
Fiona would value prayers for one of the survivors she is currently trying to help who was in a railway station where deadly cluster bombs were dropped that killed 59 people and injured hundreds more. She is a young woman with an infant who is less than a month old. Fiona has found a family who will take her in. She is, however, deeply traumatised. Please pray for her and her salvation.
C.H, our new CPM missionary based in the north, has requested prayer for exploring and witnessing in Manchester, while his second priority is building up genuine friendships and witnessing opportunities to Jewish and other neighbours in Leeds. Therefore, his prayer request is that God may grant him love, wisdom, boldness, sensitivity, protection and provision, and also importantly the guidance and the power of the Holy Spirit.
With blessings in our Messiah, the CPM UK team
